3rd July – UK roads are rubbish

Turns out Hot Colin’s (HC) brother-in-law Michael is a cyclist, either that or he likes his lycra.  That’s a “by the way” as he turned up on Colin’s doorstep last night.  Anyway, this morning my god he’s got some pace on him.  I can’t keep up with him on his old fashioned bike without toe traps let alone clips!  Fortunately he got cramp and his legs were giving out on him.  Frankly the only way I can keep up with him is to have a reckless disregard for my own safety and bomb down hills and ignore the highway code.

Having been in France earlier this week it really highlighted just how bad our roads are.  Appalling would be a kind word to describe them.  Even the newley surface UK roads are bad  What have the French got that we haven’t?  other than B.O. that is and frankly I’ve not even noticed that.
